Ti Leaf Leis
The Hawaiian Ti Leaf Lei is very popular and is a traditional lei worn by anyone for all occasions. Additionally, the Ti Leaf plant has been used in Polynesian cultural traditions going back to ancient times. This plant had many uses in ancient times which included medicinal purposes, clothing, shelter, cooking, making leis and more. Ti Leaves are still in use today and are a staple in modern day floral arrangements and a tool used in local Hawaiian cuisine. Even in modern day you can still see some Hawaiian residences plant them around their house as a belief going back to the ancient days to protect their home and ward off bad spirits and bring good luck. In this same spirit the Ti Leaf Lei has been traditionally given to someone to wear draped over their shoulders offering the same protection, healing and good luck.
Unlike other flower lei the Ti Leaf Lei is twisted together in a rope like weave which provides a natural elegance. This makes it stand out from commonly used flower leis. Our Ti Leaf Lei can also be combined with flower leis such as our Ti Leaf with White orchid. Another favorite is our Ti Leaf with an alternating mix of white tuberose which gives off a lovely fragrance. This combines the beauty of both leis making it one of Shaka Lei’s favorites. Another favorite is our Maile Style Ti Leaf Lei which resembles our Maile Lei but is more economical. When combined with our white orchids or tuberose this lei gracefully hangs over the shoulders and comes down past your waist and is absolutely gorgeous. If you would like to stand out from the rest of the crowd choose one of our Ti Leaf Lei.
